Coming ttractions The season started out a little slow for the junior Varsity team, but with a change in offensive for- mation the team really started to roll. The team averaged 21 pts. per game, over 220 yds. rushing and 120 yds. passing. Mike Soares, quarterback for the team, is probably the best in the league and was truly a team leader. The jets are expected to do well in the future. 1. 241 Bruce Coover makes a cut inside for a long gainer vs. St. Francis. 2. 317 Mike Soares is back to pass, but appears to be in trouble. 3. Curtains The Freshman Football Team had a rough season. Slowly the team began to shrink in size un- til there remained only thirteen. lt was then decided to cut the team and move the players up to the JV team, but in the end only six of the thirteen stayed on to finish the season. 1 Quarterback Gabe Sanchez hands off to Mario layakoddy as he plows into the line. 5 The team lines up as quarterback Gabe Sanchez calls the play. 6 Kevin Carr barely misses a sideline pass. 7 Dennis Davis and Mark Lazano form a wedge for Roy Armstrongs kick-off return. 8 Danny Connet gets up out of the pile after carrying the ball for a first down. l S 5 E This year's Cee team consisted of all new girls and it was the first year of competition for ev- eryone. They fought to a 2-10 record, demonstrating constant enthusiasm and improvement throughout the season. Mirtha Diaz led the team in perfor- mance and enthusiasm ... ...
