Not long ago my children dug up my high school yearbook and howled at their ancient father and his weird looking classmates. The same exper- ience will happen to you. I then reminisced with my children about the adventures, dreams, and disappointments that the pages illustrated. I hope that when you open this yearbook with your children you will be reminded of the many people at Sunnyvale High School who worked with you to make learning a worthwhile and exciting adventure. The year i973 marks the end of Sunnyvale High School's l8th year. The school, like are graduating class, has undergone profound devel- opment since its opening. The graduating class of l973 has experienced more curricular devel- opment, facility additions, and administrative reorganization than any previous graduating class in our I8-year history. This should not be alarming but rather taken as a sign of the times. Knowledge is doubling every ten years, and education can no longer be viewed as a static process. In the future our responsibility as produ- ctive citizens will be to adapt to changing ec- onomic, social, and political conditions on a world-wide basis. We can no longer think in of a specific, vocationl goal but must contin- ually equip ourselves with basic academic skills, attitudes, social values, and civic responsibilities to meet future chalenges. The graduates are to be congratulated in carrying on the rich traditions of Sunnyvale High School. You excelled in scholarship and athletics, and have provided leadership in student government, and the student activity program. Our sincerest wishes for a productive and full life go the the Class of l973. Walter W. Hale Principal L
