Yes, the second year was to see many traditions es- tablished at Sunnyvale. From the opening day at school, clubs, organizations, athletic teams, and stu- dent governing boards were established by the students who accepted the challenge ot the pioneers ot '56 The backbone ot any school's activity program is the interest shown by the taculty. With the taculty's help and guidance, tradition began to torm. There were well-attended and successful plays, dances, and games, all contributing to a scene ot industrious students and a growing school. Rallies were staged to give the athletic teams the big send-otts which they so richly deserved. School spirit was the pro- duct produced by all this tun, tervar, and activity.

,,,..,.A-'Ar' Students and faculty faced the problems and began to settle down to formulate schedules and adminis- trative plans for their school, Clubs were established and commissioners were elected along with a stu- dent council. The faculty was getting acquainted with tho students and establishing a nucleus of un- derstanding and unity. A student court was put into working order to enforce the laws enumerated in the newly drafted constitution. For the hrst time Sunnyvale was more than an inanimate structure of steel glass and yellow doors The new campus was now a year old and tangible construction was over for the time being Efforts had switched from constructing oblects of steel and glass to building tradition and achieving cultural maturity
