This year we have attained our maiority, we are graduating our first Senior Class from Sunnyvale High School. In three short years we have grown from a rugged beginning in a new school with all its shortcomings to a smoothly operating four year high school, which has taken its deserved place in our community. Visitors have come from all over the state to see our physical plant, our buildings, and our grounds. Without exception they have given us the welcome compliment of paying tribute to our courtesy, our spirit, our respect for our school, and our pride in its maintenance. It is interesting to note that very few of our original faculty have left us. The twenty-one charter membership has grown to fifty-five teachers. The student body count of tive hundred in T955 has grown to a present enrollment of thirteen hundred. Student parti- cipation in sports and clubs and membership in social and intellectual organizations has been gratifying in its rate of growth. Our Seniors going on to college can feel in every way ready for fair competition. Those who remain as members of our community can feel they are alumni, iustly proud of their Alma Mater. With our maturity we have added responsibilities. Our graduates will honor our school with their achievements, setting goals for their successors, reminding parents, teachers, and students that enduring traditions are not easily built or lightly used. Sunnyvale's Columbia Blue and White Standard is and will be a symbol of integrity. Marty Mathiesen
