Emery Reno and Leo Amaro SCVAL WRESTLING CHAMPIONS The Jet grapplers won eight dual meets and last two during the year, climaxing the season by winning two of the twelve individual championships in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League Tournament. Outstanding individuals were Emery Reno and Leo Amaro, who won the l65 and lO3 pound league championships respectively. Emery was a repeat winner, as he was last years l54 pound league cham- pion. Coach Frank Waxham did not anticipate a successful season, but due to the hard work of the wrestlers and their good spirit the team was successful in winning a maiority of its dual meets. Next year the team will have more experienced men from which to draw, with champion Leo Amaro, third place finisher Todd Peterson, and fourth place finisher Barry Kinney back to lead the team. Sen- iors Emery Reno and George Hewitt will be tough to replace, but some of the iuniors and sophomores, with the added year of ex- perience, should take up the slack and help lead the team to a better season than this past one.

The record indicates a successful season, al- though both losses were sullered in league competition and re- sulted ir' a seccrd place finish. Next year cs these bays move up to the C team there is pramase of another outstanding club to continue their 31 game win string. 5
