It played at the de dic ati on of the auditorium, marched in the Ha11owe'en and Chris tma s par ade s , and took part in the Christmas convocation. Among the entrie s in the Solo and Ensemble contest at Frankfort in February, two quartets, both duets, and five solo- ists received first division ratings. The band is directed by Mr. Raymond Pearsong and the of- ficers are Jerry Lintner, sergeant, Alan Nees, and Janet Kramer, corporals.

SUNNYSIDE ORCHESTRA The Sunnyside Orchestra, directed by M i s s Nellie Lee Slayback, has a membership of fifty this year. Among the many activities in which it has participated were the dedication of the auditorium, P. T. A. and grade school programs, the spring music festival at Jefferson High School, and the state contest. at Indianapolis in April. Two quartets and two quintets we re entered in the solo and ensemble contest at Frankfort, and all won first prize. The organization's annual picnic is to he held at Turkey Run.
