Mrs. Martin and the office girls work together to take care of the business of the school. The girls learn to use the office equipment, and they learn the routine of office work. Responsibility and experience is achieved by the girls. v .Wm-A4 X wwf? 2 WWW! if 3 ,H M mmf Miss Harms teaches all regular typing classes. The students are first acquainted with the operation of their machines, then they begin the slow process of learning to actually type. Through the school year, many proper forms of typing F-from invitations to research pa- pers-are presented. One main ability is developed in each student during the year besides typing, and that is the ability of following di- rections. Shorthand class is taught by Mr. Runyan. Shorthand is an elective course which is offered for students who are interested in following a secretarial career. During their course of study the students learn the shorthand theory and get prac- tice in taking dictation. TN..

Mrs. Smith is the teacher of all high school home economics classes. During the year, each girl is re- quired to complete a home project each semester. One semester of class time is spent on cooking and the study of foods, and the other semester is spent on sewing and knitting. 'Q wif .ir ,ily Williams Each boy in wood shop has his own shop projects. Mr. Senn, the teacher, helps each one of the stu- dents when he needs assistance or advice on his projects. In this man- ner the students learn the right Way to use the shop and the tools to produce very fine wood articles. A Miss Tracey is the arts and crafts teacher. During the year they study color and design as well as having other projects. Leather working, copper tooling, mosaics, and basket weaving are some of these other projects.

1 Math Development and Logic is a new class to our school this year. This class consists of sophomore, junior, and senior students who show a deep interest in mathematics and who want to probe deeper in some of the basic ideas of mathematics. Mr. Dickey, the teacher, and the students hold class one hour before regular school time. French students not only learn a new language, but hey also learn about a new country. Mr. Kinney, he French teacher, instructs the students in the basic aws of the French language. Conjugation is the main emphasis in the course of study. 1' Chorus class is open to all high school students. Mr. Hughes teaches the class the fundamentals of reading music and singing. This chorus group perf forms for special events and concerts.
