The students showed with eager Willingness and tremendous energy. their desire to work harmoniously with the elected officers of the student body. These officers were: president, Dick Golob: vice president. Loretta King: secretary. Velva Jean Packer: and treasurer. Donna Jean Leonard. Throughout the year the prevailing attitude of unity paid the students huge dividends in teaching them how a democratic body, working together, may accomplish many noble things. To many going out into the different walks of life. the lesson was well learned and shall always reflect the excellent attitude of Sunnyside High School. He took an active part in various activities and still maintained a grade point average of 3.91. Alvin is a member of Honor Society and Student Council. He was selected as the candidate for Boys' State where he had ample opportunity to serve as an out- standing leader among the boys. His activity also extended to athletics, where his greatest interest was as a member of the track squad. Alvin will attend college in the fall. ' 1 Y , , . , , v Mc- , , , - LLSCC QM 'ZCZIMG Bond The seventy piece senior high school band began their schedule prior to the opening date of school when the-x accepted an invitation to plav at the Wapato Harvest Festival the Ellens burg Rodeo and the Yakima Vallex Junior Fair in Grandxlew Intrlcate drills were performed bv the band the majors and the maJorettes on each occasion Besides fulfilling manx out of town appointments the band performed manx clever march ing drills for the local football fans and also entertained at half time and intermission it all bas ketball Games In late fall the band accepted an inxitatlon to plaw at the half time before the UYIIXCFSIIX of Washington and the State College of Washington football fans in Spokane played over the local radio stition The band fell into their helm spring schedule with the annual band concert before a capacltv crowd After their rendition of popular as well as elassical music thev had no difficulty in pickin up 1 supc rlor rating it the Ellensburg Music Festival on April 21 The band iceeptecl in Invitation to march at the Wenatchee Apple Blossom Festival May ll ind the Spokane Lilie Festival Max 10 Their final pcrformancc of the vear wis at the Port land Ros Festival in June 46 i i l l - . 1 . .
