A - . RETRDSDECT. A . I-HGH SCI-IOGL FOOTBALL The S. A. H. S. Football team, under the able coaching of Mr. Fenton enjoyed a most successful season. A summary of the games shows: S, A, II. S, 159-Inverness ll From the first of the season our team showed remarkable strength. as is shown by the score against the fast Inverness team. S. A. Il, S, Us-Yazoo A. H, S, ll The Benton boys were large and fast but they were not strong enough to subdue the tlghting spirit of the Sunflower team. Although we Could not carry the pigslqin over we were in storing distance several times. S. A, H, S, ZS-l'7l1ot-'raw S, ll. S. 0 Two of our regular bat-ks were out with injuries but we were still strong enough to white-wash the Weir Aggies. H. A. ll, S. 6-Rosedale lit. The First loss as well as the first time for our team lu be sc-ored on during' the season came at the hands ot the light but fast Rosedale team. Previous records show that we were not due to have let Rosedale out score us, Init they did. This loss made our team work harder and thus we won several victories because of one defeat. S. A, H, S. ll-Rolling' I-'ork U. Although the boys from Rolling Fork fought as they had never done before, they were not equal to the task of stopping the resistless surge of the Aggie, Time after time we crossed their goal line and as the final whistle blew the warriors from Rolling Fork were completely whipped. S. A. ll. S. lii-XYest llvlena. Ark. tt. The team from Arkansas thought they could stop our Aggies but they were doomed to be disappointed as the score proves, The game was well played even though played in mud and water as a heavy rain fell througheout the game. S. A. ll. S. ll-llrew tl, Drew had amliitious ideas about heating us, as this game would determine who should he in the running' for Delta Championship. The game was t'ull of thrills from beginning to end, The biggest thrill for the S. A, H. S, was that ot' holding Drew down to tt. S. A. ll, S. TAt'larksdale T. Vp until this time we had been beaten only once and had been scored on only once, For tive quarters we battled to see who should play for Delta Championship but neither could gain the supremacy. Although we did make the first touchdown. as the final whistle blew the st-ore was a T to T dead lock, We agreed for Clarksdale to go ahead and play for Championship their record appeared somewhat better than ours. S. A, ll. S. 6-Gl't't'llYlllH T. The second defeat of the season was given to us by our rivals of long standing, Greenville High. Though we fought them hard and were almost able to Carry the ole ball over for the winning score many times. the Hornets would not be downed and as the whistle blew to end the game Greenville still had a one point margin on us. Thus the season ended. Though we did not win a Championship we were still winners, as we had played every team hard and fair. and we were good losers. We had played the hardest teams of the Delta, amassing a total st-ore of 154 points while our opponents accounted for onlyl 27, SQVAD J. Col muy G. Buowx Owl-:N E.xsTl..xNn Ttllaklt J.
