Iohn Pratt absent, The Wildcats traveled to Worthington for the opening game. After a scoreless first half, the reserve strength of our larger opponents began to show and we were defeated l9 to 6. The opening home game was a success as We downed our traditional rivals from Croton 27 to l3. Mt. Gilead came to Sunbury expecting to trim our Wildcats, but barely came from behind in the last quarter to tie 6 to 6. The next three weeks found us losing to three tough opponents, Mifflin, Groveport, and Co- lumbus University. Centerburg finally defeated Sunbury on the Wildcats home gridiron after a hard game 20 to 13. We lost to a good Iohnstown team at Iohns- town 28 to U. The boys played Well, but couldn't match the all around strength of the Licking County boys who scored once in each quarter. The last game of the season We journeyed to Croton to defeat them for the second time, this time 14 to O. The season was not too successful from the standpoint of the games Won and lost, but the boys usually managed to put up a good game and never gave up fighting until the end. Their record was the best any Wildcat team has had in the last four years.
