Our social activities of the year included picnics, a hayride, skating, and Christmas party, St. Patrick's day party, and a farewell tea for the seniors. Several meetings were held jointly with the F.l:'.A. group. The l:'.H.A. entertainer their parents at one of the spring meetings. ln March We were invited to a meeting of the Radnor F.l'l.A. Initiation of the 3rd and 4th de- gree members was held in Delaware in April. Our monthly meetings were held in the Home Ec. room. The F.F.A. is a national organization for high school boys who are studying vocational agri- culture. There are F.F.A. chapters wherever the American Flag is flown, including the territories and outlying possessions of the United States. The National Organization was founded in No- vember l928 and the Sunbury Chapter received their Charter in 1930. There are four degreesin the F.F.A.: Green- hand, Chapter Farmer, State Farmer, and American Farmer. The local Chapter deter- mines the individual's advancement in the first two grades of membership, the state organi- zation determines the third, and the national organization confers the fourth degree. There have been seven State Farmers in the history of the Sunbury Chapter. Some of the important activities carried out during the year were: repairing farm machinery, collecting scrap iron and paper, building labor saving devices. We won a trophy for judging at the Hartford Fair this year. We had F.F.A. ex- hibits at the Hartford and Ashley Fairs. We pre- sented a one act comedy at the Delaware County Fair for the Walnut Grange. A pest hunt was conducted in December. We were repre- sented in the local softball league. We helped with adult farmer meetings and farm machinery and tractor repair courses. This club belongs to a National Organization called Science Clubs of America and is a chartered member. The purpose of this club is to stimulate further study in science, and to help school, community and country in any Way possible. Some of the projects the club has been carry- ing on, are the collecting of paper and other scrap useful for the war effort. With the money earned by selling these things the club bought a micro-projector. This micro-projector is called a Seascope and is very handy in the Biology and Chemistry classes. Thelma Poe, a senior who is very active in Chemistry, took a science scholarship test given out by the S. C. of A. Speakers were engaged to speak to the club on different subjects. Iohn Pratt absent, The Wildcats traveled to Worthington for the opening game. After a scoreless first half, the reserve strength of our larger opponents began to show and we were defeated l9 to 6. The opening home game was a success as We downed our traditional rivals from Croton 27 to l3. Mt. Gilead came to Sunbury expecting to trim our Wildcats, but barely came from behind in the last quarter to tie 6 to 6. The next three weeks found us losing to three tough opponents, Mifflin, Groveport, and Co- lumbus University. Centerburg finally defeated Sunbury on the Wildcats home gridiron after a hard game 20 to 13. We lost to a good Iohnstown team at Iohns- town 28 to U. The boys played Well, but couldn't match the all around strength of the Licking County boys who scored once in each quarter. The last game of the season We journeyed to Croton to defeat them for the second time, this time 14 to O. The season was not too successful from the standpoint of the games Won and lost, but the boys usually managed to put up a good game and never gave up fighting until the end. Their record was the best any Wildcat team has had in the last four years. 656254 75 xg f L 2 Q ,X Q' 'QQ f win, Egg I N WL? X K z of '32 rg . L X F Q 232+ fy D. GALLOGLY Tackle FUUTBALL HAI. ANNUALS F MORE THAN EVER BEFORE in the past twenty-five years is there a genuine need for a Yearbook. Very often annuals are the only substantial source of pic- tures and activities in which former students participated. It is a history of U R MUHALE four years that will prove invaluable to the families and sweethearts of the boys who are serving in the Armed Forces. We are proud to have had the privilege of being a part in the planning and execution of this fine book.
