S Sm N History of the Commercial Section It was a warm September morning, in 1923, when lo! we, as Fresh- men, entered this 'fllicturesque Sunbury High Schoolj' to begin our journey, which was to last four long years. At that time they seemed long, but my-how short they really were! This is the story of our travels through the four yearls jouirney- VVe were introduced to Dr. J. VV. Weete1', our principal the first year, and we at once left him know of our intentions to become efficient t'stenogs and bookkeepers. Our classes were organized at the beginning of the term and all set ot work with a will. At last, after what seemed ages and ages, the last month arrived-and also examinations. Finally everything was over and we passed into the Sophomore Class. VVe entered into our Sophomore year with a brighter outlook. Everything was a Hpath-of-roses. XVc started struggling with the funny looking characters in a study, called Shorthand. Bookkeeping was an- other f'dreadful study, which caused many nightmares andfnervous breakdowns. It seemed just as though every teacher was trying to 'icraml' them into our heads. After struggling for nine long months, at these horrid studies, examinations-and at last Vacation. Then we became 'tJolly Juniors and had thc chance to 'frazzll the Freshmen. This was the year in which the Commercial students had many thrilling events, both in the classroom and outside. YVe all tugged and tugged for the climax-the Ju11ior-Senior Prom. Although we, as Commercials, had plenty of fun in our Junior year, the best was yet to come, when we would become Seniors. VVithi the experience we had gained in the past three years, we were III-Oulidtid--li1llLO the best Senior Commercial Class ever to graduate from Sunbury High. During this illustrious year we had had experience in what real business means. Besides carrying on a real live business of our OVVII in class, we did outside work for others and so got experience in working for and pleasing other people. WVe really enjoyed doing this work too, because it carried us just that much closer to our goal of being efficient 'tstenogsf' It was this great spirit which had prevailed in all of us these four short years, with which we accomplished so very many great deeds. And now-Farewell dear S. H. S. Emily Everett '27.
