WDX Y Disc jockeys Lead Seniors In Raising 574,300 Placards, water pistols, and kazoos marked the opening of the senior mag- azine campaign in October. Senior homerooms were divided into two teams, Charlie's Chargers and Powell's Pistols led by fun-loving WDXY disc jockeys, Charlie lay and Bob Powell. Chargers and Pistols were herded into the auditorium prior to the campaign to receive the maga- zine sales pitch and to take part in boisterous, spirit-raising, team rivalry. After four weeks of pacing the Sum- ter community and peddling popular magazine subscriptions, the senior class raised approximately 514,300 Charlie's Chargers outdistanced Powell's Pistols in the stretch to claim high sales honors, but Will Bynum topped all seniors and won the grand prize of 55100 by selling almost S600 worth of subscriptions. The profit earned from the '72-'73 magazine sale was used to finance the school's yearbook, newspaper, and literary magazine. 4, W t QW- VIJ Gleeful Pistols lead their team in a victory yell C25 Charlie lay challenges his chargers to establish a new record in magazine sales.
