The Sumner Trojans competed 1n seven track meets during the 1953 season They are as follows Pleasanton Dawson County Brady Invitational Ord Invitational Kearney Invitational Wood Ru er Valley Conference District The Sumner Trojans will compete in the same track meets this year Due to the fact that the annual has to be in the printing office before the track season starts I will give you the results of 1953 The first track nueet was against Pleasanton Bulldogs in which the Trojans won They placed flrst in the Dawson County Wood River Valley Conference and the District The Trojans had four boys qualify for the state track meet .Toe McFarland and Bob Reier Joe McFarland placed first 1n broadjumping tied for first inpole vaulting and third in the one hundred yard dash Let's hope that the Trojans have a successful season in 1954 N49 m m A X4 3.3 UUE f--1-as-v-r Z8 K., The Sumner relay team placed fourth, consisting of Doug Dickerson, James Rice, J ' rx-J' 7 J 5 , X 4' Q ' 1 xx K N A X 9 p C Ik X z C 4 I I X
