Preparing to warm up for the game are players Thomas Sherrill, John Harris, Vernon Birmingham, and Kevin Sullivan. A lack of pitching depth hurt the Spart- ans this season. It is very hard to play a twenty game schedule with only two pit- chers. However, congratulations are in order for Doug McClain and Maurice Harbin for keeping the Spartans respectable. The hitting was led by two seniors, Jesse Graves and Curtis McClain. A late comer, Dewayne Williams also helped to give the Spartans batting power. Dewayne will be back next year, as will Maurice Harbin, to lead the Spartans to a successful season.
