SUMNER JOINS STATE ASSOCIATION Sumner began a new era in sports when the department of athletics assumed full member- ship in the Kansas High School Activities Association this year, participating in football, basket- ball, and track. Previously Sumner has held limited membership because it was not possible to obtain satisfactory football and basketball schedules with member schools of the association and- those of other statesg and, also, because of the fact that Sumner did not have the privilege of interscholastic relations with other schools of the city. St. .Toseph's Military Academy, Hays, Kansas, and Highland Park of Topeka were added to the football schedule.
