HIREWIIRII As we present the second annual copy of the Spindrift, we recall with pleasure the improvements in our school and in ourselves as well. Such a long, long four years we have been together. So many incidents have come to pass which have altered our lives and caused us to realize, at least partly, the most difficult lesson of life ----- the art of living with one another. .1 0 J MFA' Y ' gi :asm-1 -----sc -fem - - - as-.QQ:,ffi -we clll 'f'f 'ii' - ' 'T - n I :sunset . 3 :nn ir-H,f515? Mr. stood Sumner High Schoo1's Student government consists of sixteen students, two from each home room. This year's council members are: Seniors, Harold Campbell, Jane Thompson, Frank Albee, Gail Jacobs: Juniors, Harland Delaney, Marjorie Martin, Richard Bennett, Orice Bunk- er, Sophomores, Lawrence Stanley, Betty Johnson, Deane Cowperthwaite, Nana Johnson, Freshmen, Wayne Joy, Nancy Chase, Larry Torrey, Faye Nash. The major project of the council has been drawing up a constitution for Sumner High School. The constitution, written by Richard Bennett and other council members, was submitted to the student body and ratified. The Student Council has sponsored candy sales and has held dances after home basketball games on Fridays in order to raise one hundred dollars for a movie projector. This projector has a loud-speaking attachment which is used for record hops in the gym, the benefits of which go toward the projector. These are only a few of the duties which our Student Council members perform. They have shown a sense of responsibility and concientiousness while helping to better their school. .al i , f , , -se 1 'lf SEATED: F.
