What is Sumner High? Each of us has his own conception of what it is. Sumner High School is buildings and classrooms and teachers and students. It is fundamentally people. They administrate, teach, and learn. They participate in the activities and belong to championship teams. They give life and excitement to Sumner High. It is banging lockers.. .scurrying feet... quick hi's . . .sailing into the room at the last minute. . . clacking typewriter keys. . . the steady boom, rat-a-tat- tat of the drums when the band is practicing on the football field. . .seeing a paramecium through a microscope.. . whispering in class. . . People, this is pret-ty important. . .. le livre, le papier, la femme ...delicious smells from the home ec. room.. .last-minute studying for a test. . .clanking silverware and mingled voices in the lunchroom. . .XZ + y2: lU. . .a booming announcement over the intercom. . .Ma's bread and cinnamon rolls... His main objective is to keep our educational system abreast of the times with many new methods and materials.
