The winter con- cert had several overtures featuring The Choco- late Soldier, and a young tap dancer was the quest artist. However, this year the band ch ose to specialize mostly in popular and semiepopular music. Some members of the band have offered their special talents to various programs which were greatly enjoyed by all. Most outstanding of these were selections by the Trumpet Trio and the Baton Twirling Exhibitions by Gloria Ellexson on roller skates. These were put on during the half at the home basketball games. Gloria, a member oi the 1945 Senior Class, is the student band director and drum majorette. The band director is Mr. Paul Cronenberger. There are approximately sixty members in this organization, although graduation will take ten of them this year. The Sumner High School Student Body is very proud of its band and Wishes it a lot of success.
