The club was named in honor of Miss Parker, a former teacher at Sumner High School. The purposes of F. T. A. are to help future teachers learn more about the teaching profession, to cultivate qualities essential in a good teacher, and to develop leadership. Our representatives attend all sessions of the Annual Human Rights Day, serve on the Steering Committee of the Intergroup Youth, which meets at Washington University twice a month. Our chapter, No. 1450, became the second such organization in the Greater St. Louis area.
