Since we believe that the future of our nation depends upon the education of our youth, we students of Summitville High School wish to show you in this yearbook the high educational goals which we are striving to obtain. The basic idea of education in the United States is that self-government requires informed citizens and that every one, according to his capability, is given equal opportunity to learn. We will guide you through our yearbook by means of our newly formed school crest: our crest symbolizes the many and varied activities that occur throughout the school year. -3- I School Jtife Kevolves Mound Zhese The waving of the red, white, and blue reminds us of our American heritage. The selling of ads is one of the most important jobs that has to be completed. Each salesman should feel very proud for we were supplied with a more than sufficient amount of advertisement. Terry Weesner, Sunny Turschman. Pam Benton, and Bill VanNess composed the team which sold the largest amount of advertisements in the yearbook. - 78 - I electrical energy for the needs of motion Delco-Remy delivers! Wherever vehicles of any type are to be set into motion—on or above the earth—electricity is the vital auxiliary force that keeps them going. Right now, millions of cars, trucks and buses, including those built by General Motors, rely on electrical compo- nents by Delco-Remy. So do Power boats. Aircraft, off-the-highway and farm equipment manufacturers look to Delco-Remy, too. ■ Today Delco-Remy elec- trical systems work better, longer and with greater reliability than ever before—durability tests, cold room tests, General Motors Proving Ground tests, and fleet tests see to that. And out of Delco-Remy's con- tinuous research and development will come even better electrical systems. For producing reliable elec- trical systems that generate, transform and control electrical energy for the needs of motion has been a Delco-Remy specialty for over half a century.
