Baseball Our baseball team turned out to be a great success. It has been many a year since Summit has fielded a baseball team. We played our flrst game wlth Redcliff at Minturn. We won 18 to 7. We played our second game with Redcllff at Dillon. This time beating them 28 to 5. Our third game and last was played at Fairplay. We won 12 to 7. Congratulations to Coach Nosewicz and to the team. fs 'Gr , s-Z Wy f X ne-qs T c X Summit Tigers COACH ED NOSEWICZ Basketball 11955-563 At the time that this yearbook goes to press, we have had a very successful basketball season. We began the season by winning the Fairplay Tournament. We defeated Woodland Park, Redcliff, and Cripple Creek-Victor. Bobby Rice and Iimmy Christensen won places on the All-Tournament' Sportsmanship Team. Hud Prestrud, Jimmy Christensen, and Prank Enyeart were named on the Tournament All-Star Team. In League competltlion, we have been defeated only by McCoy. We have defeated Gypsum, Eagle, Redcliff, and Minturn ftwlcel. We expect to avenge the McCoy defeat when we play them again. Hud Prestrud's knee injury has handicapped us very much. In Non-League competition we have defeated Climax and Kremmlingg but we were defeated by Leadville, a Class A school. With Hud Prestrud back in the llne-up, lwe hope in a week or sol we should take the League championship and the Dlstrlct Tournament without too much trouble. We predict a good showing in the State Tournament. K. .9 of wh-'ups-A A lun by WALUIORHI 10fll1l lu-un.. I.. u. 3. A. 3 5
