GMS Field Day A Day Df Fun, Competition And Sportsmanship Cn Friday, May 24, the Girls Middle School held its annual Field Day. Following mass, the four teams began the grueling competition that was to last three hours. The first events were the less-taxing short distance races. The grand finale was the test of muscle and strength, the tug-of-war, in which Alpha proved to have the final pull. After lunch the infamous eighth grade softball stars tried to prove to their mothers their prowess on the field. Unfortunately, they were unable to pre- vail, and the mothers took over and won 11-4. -- Sara Sheets and Kalin Wilson v , -,nr HJ-Lal' ,M I ,v--g, f , . 4 r Above - Liz Brueggemann gives it her all to make her winning throw of 19.9 feet! By The Rockets' Red Glare The seventhfeighth grade trip to Washington DC. this year was a truly wonderful time. First stop was Wil- liamsburg. Some girls liked it so much, they had trouble leaving tthe stocks, that is!! After soaking up the atmosphere of long dresses and hand- dipped candles, it was on to Washing- ton. For two incredibly fast-paced days our travelers saw just about ev- ery landmark of our country's history humanly possible! Not only did their historical sense develop, the girls also rated cateterias and restaurants in the Washington area. The unanimous de- cision is that Morrison's was no good . Thanks to the teachers who volunteered their lives and sanity to help us on the trip, and good luck to the next one! - Tara O'Donnell we K 4 gh t k Above - Hey, Look, it sticks!
