AND WE GC HOME At last the school is quiet. After a year of clanging bells, stomping feet, and excited voices, the hallways and classrooms are still. A few workers rattle about, working to prepare for next year's hordes. A hot breeze loses its excitement as it dispiritedly wafts through the empty rooms. The smell of fresh-cut grass fills the air so recent- ly punctuated with shouts and backing cars. A car full of students drives past, its occupants barely giving the school a glance as they busy themselves with the sum- mer.
