If you can't think of an answer to this question, then you are a fan of the Summit Boys' Tennis Team! A new coach, a lot of new players and a new season combined to produce a team that showed a lot of promise. They made it into tournament play, where they demonstrated their skill and verified the fact that soon they will be the carefully honed players who will dominate the league! The Girls' Tennis Team is a young aspiring one which shows promise to achieve great accomplishments. Com- prised of Jill Verdin, Elsa C-erwin, Brandi Cale, julie McLaughlin, Kelly Conners, Heather Blake, Kathy Gayol, Laura LaLonde, Leslie Kropp and Holly Friesz, this group did not emerge victorious in many matches, yet they gained the prestige of placing third in the Miami Valley High School Invitational at Dayton. In the sectionals, individuals also succeeded, including Laura LaLonde, who advanced a round, the doubles couple of Holly Friesz and Elsa Cerwin, who progressed two rounds, and team captain Jill Verdin, who advanced three. The team will miss Jill, the sole senior, who led the team with her experience, fine attitude, and sense of humor. These promising underclassmen have de- veloped a strong spirit of camaraderie and eagerness to improve on their present abilities. Truly they will become genuine contenders in the near future. - Regina Miesle and Mary Landrigan

Summit Cheerleaders Spark That Spirit! Our cheerleaders. What can you say about a group of girls who unfailingly give of them- selves to promote school spirit? One has to admit, it does take a LOT of devotion to wear those tiny skirts around school in the middle of winter! Our cheer- leaders are good. Once again our varsity squad won a Cheer Ohio Spirit Key at cheerleading camp. Our cheerleaders are spirited. They have endured the most spirit-killing games with equin- amity, and kept our school cheering throughout it all! At ev- ery major sports event, and at many minor ones, you will find them cheering or leading cheers. Their smiling faces and enthusi- astic voices have urged our teams to victory time and time again. I think it is time that we cheered for the cheerleaders! - Mary Landrigan Varsity Squad: First Row - Anjali Coel, Kim Brent, Teri Riley Second Row - Katie Steffen, Tracy Law.
