A Great Kickoff, A Great Season! 1984 was the Year of the Quarterback as three different Knights led the team to an 8-2 record. Injury to senior Steve Tyrrell, who engineered three victories to open the season, brought Brian Talty and Mike Collins into action to complete the season with five victories in seven games. A 52-6 Homecoming victory over Landmark was highlighted by Chris Rosser's two touchdowns in two attempts. A 55 yard per carry average has to be a record! The Knights concluded the season with a 42-6 thumping of Country Day - the fourth straight over the Indians. The Class of '85 never lost a football or basketball game to their arch rival Indians! f' Dancin' In The Streets . , , Boogie To Breakin' The Homecoming game victory de- manded some Dancing in the Streets! From 8:00 to midnight, Smokin' and the Students rocked the Summit Pavillion with spectacular music from the late 15O's and early '60's. The Students, who have acquired a cult following at the Summit, played such greats as Shout and My Girl as a large, receptive crowd boo- gied down . Although the band needed a break, the students did not as the music turned from pre-Beatles to 1984 break- ing. Many of the Freshman boys dis- played their talents for dancing in the streets during intermissions. Both the students and alumni agreed that this Homecoming was an unsurmounted success in achieving a sense of united enthusiasm for the student community. - Betsy Mullins .4121 l ..-..-.J
