forward times are continually changing, making last year's juniors, seniors; last year's seniors grownups. Time waits for no one, and after awhile memories fade and finally they just aren't there anymore, so we put all our mem- ories on paper before we forget and bind them together into a book, in that way although you may go ahead into the future you can always go back from time to time by just opening the cover of this book, it is time for '71 to say farewell to Summerville high and to move on to college, marriage, and just plain life, let's hope that the ideals we learned these last four years will serve as guides, leading us to the best life possible-a life where we can accept the good with the bad, remembering that to everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.

dedication a friendly face and a ready smile are two of our dedicatee's most outstanding attributes, he is one of the greatest guys we know, and one of the very few who never seem to be angry, he's always happy and willing to help anyone in need, he not only drives the tuolumne bus, he also drives to and from games and field trips, at Christmas time he and his wife fix bags of candy to give to the kids as they get on the bus. there's never a morning, rain or shine, when he doesn't have a cneery word to say. we, the Summerville high yearbook staff, proudly dedicate the 1970-71 edi- tion to mr. al bonales, a great guy.
