reader's theatre was introduced into Summerville high last year by mr. james mendonsa. this year's group of readers, juli flores, karen latorre, jana evans, jim maxwell, dick emst, lisa bingham, judy leonard, and susan thornpson took first place in the ione tournament where they were in competiton with four other schools, mr. mendonsa has also organized a group of four readers to perform biblical readings for community service over the Christmas holidays, he plans on organizing more readings for performance over easter vacation and other holidays. the forensics club members this year are: karen latorre, dawn beam, pam kerns, janet schoover, cindy tune, jeanne lavell, nancy centenini, denise burrow, dennis baker, julie flores, judy leonard, pat taylor, sue thompson, nancy schottgen, dave recek, and mat lindblom. again this year the forensics club under the direction of mr. jim mendonsa have done well in all the tournaments they have participated in. forensics is only one part of the growing speech and drama department of Summerville high. 96

a time for us we are the yearbook staff, our job starts before school does and ends after school is out. it s plenty of work, but when done it's worth the effort, our members are: marsha malgesini, dick emst, robin menking, nora church, andy robertson, debbie whitehead, nancy malgesini, debbie corder, diane bamhart, storme wilson, yvonne perano, nancy schoettgen, and sue thompson. our faithful advisor is mr. moyer, and our editor yvonne perano. j
