AmeRican field SeRvice My stay at Summerville was the most wonderful experi- ence I ever had. As a member of the Student Body I learned not only by theory and my own thoughts like I did before my stay in America, but through life and experience that most people all over the world are the same. Soon I will leave to go to Germany, my Germany which I love. I will return much richer in knowledge than I was when I arrived. The teachers, the students, and the townpeople, and especially my American parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cromwell, and my brothers, Roger and Ronald, were every minute so friendly and helpful. My being an American Exchange Student to The Netherlands this past summer is and always will be a very important experience in my life. As a member of the Dirk De Vries family in Nieuwe Horne, Freisland, I became very close to my Dutch family and proud of the Dutch people by knowing them and understanding their customs and their country. This made me moie aware of the old American spirit of our forefathers who fought for the freedom of our country, AMERICA, let us always be reminded of your heritage for a stronger and better America.
