MASS PRIIPHHIY Betng Alt Hostess for several years and doxng qulte a lot of flylng, we dectded to take a tour across the Umted States by tram Startmg from our home rn Summervllle, we took a bus to Plttsburgh then a taxi to Umon Statton Who do you sup pose was the IHXI drlver? None other than Anna Allegretto Havlng been fnends ln hrgh school we began to vxsxt She told us that Stanley Brown rs the owner of the Yellow Cab Company and, much to our surprrse, that he IS marr1ed to a very lovely lady They have f1ve chlldren, whose governess turned out to be Patty Gathers We bade Anna good bye and went IDIO Umon Statlon We walked over to the ticket wrndow and found ourselves look mg rrght at James Ishman, the Trcket Agent We had a few hours before tram ume so we asked Jrm zfthere were anyplace we could have our halt set He told us that Sh1rley Smith has a small shop on the second floor of the stauon Sh1rley v1s 1ted w1th us unt1l ll was ume for our tram to leave We had just settled down Lnto our seats when up the alsle came PFC Gale Hawk She told us she has been 1n the WAFS for qutte a few years and l1ked the ltfe very much She rnuoduced us to her france, a fat general qAfter all, looks are only skm deep 1t's money that countsj Our flrst stop was lndtanapolls where we declded to take rn the races Thls was the ume of the year for the bxg 500 race We arrlved rn the mornrng and havlng some ume before the race declded to eat A large attracnve restaurant took our attenuon and upon entermg dlscovered that Dorothy Young ts the headwaltress She has been successful 11'l her pos1t1on and also has a growlng famxly S1nce we stayed there much longer than we should have, we just had ume to make the races The blggest surprlse of all was when we found that Kenneth Fenstermaker was one of the dr1vers 1n the btg 500 We knew for sure that tlus race would be a thnller Best of all, Ken won We slmply had to see Ken, so we went to the pus Ken IS now a r1ch man After all the excrtement had d1ed down he told us a frlend of ours was tn the c1ty w1th h1s glamorous troop of models We couldn't th1nk of who thrs could be, so Ken took us to meet htm It was none other than Ray Hxlllard QGabby to usp He was looktng f1ne and hadn't agedm the shghtest way Of course, he wastn lus usual sptuts We had to leave before we found ourselves dl'1VlI'lg racers We boarded the tram durrng the ntght and arrlved ln Chlcago about 4 A M S1nce It was so early tn the mornmg we declded to f1nd a hotel room We found the best hotel 1n town, THE PLAZA HOTEL, owned by Beverly Buzzard Because we were too ured, we drdn t bother to look her up that mght About II A M we went to the lobby and Beverly was there talkrng to Ruth Smlth, so we went over to Joxn them Ruth marr1ed to a wealthy cattle rancher mTexas, IS 1n the East for a short vacatton Also we dxscovered that Betty Spare and Shtrley Travls had just returned from Pans They had been on a shoppmg tour for the largest department store tn Chlcago Beverly has several of our classmates workmg for her rn the ho tel For rnstance Helena Retchard IS a beauttclan, Mary Nelswonger 15 the hotel s prlvate doctor, and Dolores Kesner 15 head cook Prckrng up the paper we found that a new powerful bomb had been perfected by a world known sclenttst, Robert Mc Gregor Also, Clair M1ller had been on televrsron dxsplaymg his abrlxty to type He IS the fastest typlst rn the world Turn Lng to the sports secuon we found that Pete lshman rs playxng b1g league baseball for the New York Dodgers Our tram left Chrcago at 4 P M Movtng West we had to change trains at a small town Ln Iowa called Soulx Crty At the stauon we met Mary Smrth She told us that she was teachmg Math at the local htgh school Rrght now she was going to v1s1t her brother Wllber, tn Wyommg We asked about Wrlbur and she told us that he IS a rancher on the plams, l1v1ng ln luxury uslng Cadlllacs on the range tnstead of horses The next stop we made was Los Angeles The frrst thmg we had to do after amvmg was some shoppmg That's when we dlscovered that Kathryn Carrler and Pearl Smrth have an exclus1ve dress shop tn the best sectron of town Across the street we nouced a bu1ld1ng that covered the whole block Kaue told us II IS a hospltal where Dr Wxllram Carrrer IS the head doctor H15 prrvate nurse IS Marlene Huffman, and Donna Wtlhams ts Supermtendent of Nurses The nextday we v1s rted Hollywood A great picture was tn productron starrrng Johnny M1lls He 15 the world's second Caruso Followxng our excxtmg ume 1n Hollywood we went to the beach for our last few days before returnmg home We rented a small cottage, and drscovered that our next door nerghbor IS Mary Young, who IS now a very, very nch lady wrth Dor1s Wluteman, as her compan1on The next mornmg we went explormg, walkmg up the beach for several mrles Just before turmng back we nonced a huge mansron on the next hxll Tlus beauuful home ts the restdence of Rebecca Camer and IS ably managed by her housekeeper Sh1rley Whrteman Mxss Carner had retued and moved out West to be wxth her rtch hus band who IS an arust The followmg day we took a plane home We came to the conclusxon that the Class of 54 certarnly had turned out successfully Sally Weldon Glona Olson 19 1 I 0 , 1 1 1 1 o . 1 . 1 1 1 . . . . . . . .
