CLASS PROPHECY On a warm day in June, 1965, I was driving around in my big black Cadillac, I pulled into a gas station for a refill of gas when, to my great surprise, Victor Reffey was the attend- ant. In our conversation I found that he would rather go to college, but of course one has to have money to attend college. At a party, I learned that Helen Stuckman has really built up a reputation for herself. She is a fine beautician in a great New York salon. She is very competent. In any spare moments she runs up to a little town in Massachusetts and writes novels. Have your read any of them? I was invited to go with a gang of friends to see the Cleveland Indians play the New York Yankees at New York. In the line up I found the name of an old schoolmate, Roger Kalb, who is the pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, who are now in a streak of winning. On our way from the baseball game we passed fields of wavy corn, golden wheat, and red clover. This and much more belongs to Donald Heinlen, who is a scientific farmer. It is so worked that every inch of soil makes money for Donald. As we went along we noticed the manager of Isa1y's Dairy store was Kenneth Striker. Later we found that he was not only the manager of this one but of all the lsa1y's stores in New York. Towards evening we saw a college boy hitch-hiking. As we neared him we were de- lighted to see it was Melvin Sturtz. In our too short of visit we learned that he was the star guard on the college basketball team. While we were having dinner that evening at a hotel in New York the spotlight was fo- cused upon an alto singer. The voice sounded rather familiar when I turned to look there be- fore me was Janice Pfleiderer. In our short conversation I learned that she was a secretary in a large brokerage in New York and sung in the hotel part time. QI wondered if her boss takes her to lunch.J And speaking of New York we read that there was to be an exhibit of the brand new 1965 jet planes. Among the pilots was Ramon Shealy, who had been decorated many times with medals for being the most noble pilot. It was wonderful to meet all our old schoolmates in New York, but it was also wonderful to be back in good old Sulphur Springs. Prophets Ehud
