CLASS HISTORY In October, the tenth grade initiated us and we were officially in high school. At Christmas we took part in an exchange and also a small party was held. The attendants for the May Day Program were Janice Pfleiderer and Melvin Sturtz. We ended our first year of high school with eleven members. I In our Sophomore year of high school we had more things to do. At the start of the year we had eleven members, but during the course of the year, Mary Ellis, Jim Gregory, and Rose Rex left our class, bringing our membership down to a total of eight which was to remain with us throughout the rest of our high school careers. Officers elected for the year were Kenny Striker, President: Victor Reffey, Vice President, Ramon Shealy, Secretary: Helen Stuckman, Treasurer: and Roger Kalb, Student Council Representative. Our Advisor was Miss Smith. In October, we had the honor of initiating the green freshmen and we did a good job on them. At Christmas we took part in the annual Christmas exchange and also took part in the Christmas Program. The attendants for our May Day Program were Helen Stuckman and Donals Heinlen. At the end of the 1954-55 school year we had eight members. As we entered our Junior year in high school, we had six boys and two girls in our class. After the election of officers, we learned that Kenny Striker was President: Ramon Shealy, Vice- Presidentg Helen Stuckman, Secretary, and Victor Reffey was Treasurer. The Student Council Representative was Roger Kalb. The Junior Festival which was in the summer of 1955 netted us a profit of 8331. 00. In November, we presented the play, Take It Easy , which was directed by Mr. McKinster who was also our advisor. In November we received our class rings and every- one seemed to be pleased with them. In December, the annual Christmas Program was held and all members of the Junior Class took part. On May ll, the Juniors entertained the Seniors at the annual Junior and Senior Banquet. The theme was Shangrila . Janice Pfleiderer was a cheer- leader during the 1955- 56 basketball season. The spring musical was held on May 18. Helen Stuckman was elected May Day Queen and Ramon Shealy and Janice Pfleiderer were the class attendants. At the end of our Junior year eight members were enrolled. The Senior Class began the year with six boys and 2 girls. The Officers for the year were as follows: President, Ramon Shealy: Vice President, Janice Pfleiderer, Secretary, Helen Stuck- man: Treasurer, Melvin Sturtzg Student Council, Kenny Strikerg and the advisor was Mr. Allan Cole. On September 20, we collected annual ads. The total was around 8350. 00. Janice and Helen were elected cheerleaders this year. Helen was also elected Mardi Gras Queen Candidate for our school, On November 13, we ventured to Tiffin to get our senior pictures taken. Also in November we selected our caps, gowns, invitations, and name cards. We all took part in the an- nual Christmas Program which was held on December 19. Helen, Melvin, Ramon, Victor, and Kenny attended the National Honor Society Banquet held on March 30. On April 5, six members attended the County Musical at New Washington. The Juniors invited the Senior Class to a ban- quet on May 3. The theme was a Hawaiian one. We presented two one act plays on May 10 with the help of the Junior Class. They were entitled High Window and Summer Come to the Dia- mond O . Now how much, but how we1l was chosen as our Class Motto. Our Flower is the American Beauty Rose. Blue and Gold were chosen as our Class Colors. Baccalaurette Services were held on May 19, Commencement Exercises were conducted the following evening, May 20. This ended the school life for the Class of 1957. Y.

CLASS WILL We, the undersigned, members of the Class of 1957 of Sulphur Springs High School, town of Sulphur Springs, County of Crawford, and State of Ohio, being in comparatively good health and in a supposedly sound state of mind, and being desirous of settling our world affairs while we still have the strength and capacity do make, declare, and publish this, our last will and testament, hereby revoking any and all former wills, codicils, and testaments made by us The Enchanting Eight. ITEM I: To Mr. Thatcher, we will an electric back scratcher. To Mr. Fisher, we will may happy years of married life. To Mr. Masters, we will many umbrellas to be raised on his farm. To Mr. Cole, we will the hope of seeing the light with his Jr. Hi basketball team. To Mrs. Schiefer, we leave to her the thought of not having us in her 2nd, period study hall. To Miss Crabtree, we bequeath a more energetic and enthusiastic English class. To Mrs. Hinklin, we will her the money to buy a new car. To Miss Givin, we will as good a baritone section next year as she had this year. ITEM II: To the cooks, we congratulate them on their well prepared meals, To the bus drivers, we leave a few vacant seats, but they will be filled next year. To Abe, we bequeath the thought that he will have as much success as his predecessor. ITEM III: To the student body we bequeath the hope that they will get a new gymnasium. ITEM IV: I, RAMON SHEALY, will the editorship of the annual to Gerald Leonhardt. I, ROGER KALB, bequeath my basketball ability to Glen Hoffsis. I, VICTOR REFFEY, will my big feet to Gene Luidhardt. I, HELEN STUCKMAN, will my base drumming to Kathryn Sturtz. I, JANICE PFLEIDERER, will my horror story to Miss Crabtree. I, KENNY STRIKER, will my ability to read English in activity period to my cousin Big Jerry. I, MELVIN STURTZ, will my ability to get through English without reading it to Glenn Redman.
