Sulphur played the strongest quintets in this section of Louisiana. Under the guidance ot a new basketball coach, Mr. Carrol Fontenot, the team hustled all of the wayp and when they lost, their good sportsmanship was wonderful. Their philosophy was that if they couldn't win, they could be good losers, Skeet Iernigan, forward, was the leading scorer for the Sulphur Quintet with 160 points. A one handed push shot was his best. Gene Garrison, forward, followed up with 144 points. His floor play was an outstanding factor of the team's success. Following Garrison was Douglas Harlan with 96 points. His ability to take the ball off the backboard proved helpful in every game. Close behind Harlan was Guard S. I. Serice with 80 points for the season. A brilliant guard and a good team player. Bringing up the last position was Ioe Barkate, guard. He totaled 54 points for the season and was outstanding for his work on defense. sn S! . Some of this feeling radiates from Mr. Dallas I, Fontenot, their club sponsor. Another reason that these boys always seem so happy is because they are busy. Their motto is: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve. FFA boys are thoroughly familiar with the aims and purposes of their club. They intend to be agricultural leaders of the future. In these six pages, the FFA boys are pictured participat- ing in all the interesting activities which go into their program. Eveiy student believes in the beautiful FFA Creed, the first line of which reads: I believe in the future of farming, with a faith born, not of words, but of deeds. Miss VIRGINIA LYoNs F, F. A.
