A jet airplane service between the United States and Shangri-La has just been announced by Boeing Airlines. At present the service is experimental, and the only pilot is David Ballinger and the only stewardess is Pat Lowrance. If this flight proves popular, more extensive service is planned for the future. Willa Dean Moss has already volunteered to take the first trip on the jet back to the States to see Loye. Mike Lowrey, industrialist and movie producer, has sold out his holdings in 4-D pictures corporation for more than four million dollars. Frank Sass has a donkey farm located about six miles north on the Senior Gangway Turnpike. Helen Kaserman, a very ambitious person, has not been successful as yet in establishing her business, due to the child labor law, not permitting children to work. There is always plenty of entertainment in Shangri-La. On Sunday after- noons, everyone goes to the zoo to watch Sue Bennett perform with her trained squirrels. Saturday night is a good night for the movies. Now showing is The Dollie Sisters starring Pattie Roberts and Mary Helen Owens. On Friday nights everyone stays home and watches Peggy Miller, known as Perilous Peggy, and Amanda Yates, known as Amazing Amanda, in the wrestling matches on T. V. Virginia Lowrance has finally succeeded in her dancing career. She now has her own dance studio known as the Swinging E-N-D Studio. Virginia has some very talented students, one of whom is Dan Smith. He is taking 'ballet lessons to improve his muscle co-ordination. Raymond Lee, another out- standing tap student, is still trying to persuade Virginia that her career isn't everything. The island is always well protected with the 699th division of the National Guard. The commanding officer is Gene Williams and his most heroic sergeant, Valton Corley. Don Peak is now taking a correspondence course from O. U. back in the States to become a detective just like joe Friday. Dr. Eddie Morton is in the process of writing a series of articles on Why Football Coaches Encourage Their Players to Smoke. Barbara Richburg, who is in the dairy business, has recently broken all previous records. She now milks 500 head of cows, bare-handed, each morning at 5 a. m. She-'s really a whizz. She doesn't have to milk at night. When Barbara milks them, they stay milked.
