I, Carl Barnes, will my love for short girls to Walter Botsford, I, Barbara Fiester, will my freckles to Louise Ferrell, l, Irene Golder, will my ability to get married to Miss Kinsley. I, Douglas Golder, will my ability for goodleadership to Tom Little, I, Anna Gunther, will my diamond to Jane Edkin. I, Marlene Halligan, will my ability to play volleyball to Miss Saxer, I, Myrna Long, will my love for the Marines to Linda Jordan. I, Constance Moyer, will my short hair to Loretta Houseknecht, I, Sterling Myers, will my cigars to Mrs. Rose, I, Sally Myers, will my love for Laporte to Joan Eberlin, I, Beverly Phillips, will my crown from the Prom to Sylvia George. I, Daniel Rose, will my quietness to Gloria Bender, I Judy Rose, will my courage and ability to overcome great difficulties to all underclassmen, I, Rita Searfoss, will my good driving ability to Mr. Carpenter. I, Alvin Smith, .will my love for the Navy to the Junior boys. I, George Smith, will my ability to control his temper to Mr, Yaudes. I, Dick Sones, will my fur trapping business to Jean Dunham. I Carl Stiger, will my ability to talk back to the teachers without getting kicked out of class to Dale Sharrow. I Douglas Toothaker, will my talking ability and love for Mr. Yaudes to Theo Young, I, JoAnn Worthington, will my ma jorette uniform to Mrs. Swisher. We, the seniors, will our sense of dignity to our worthy successors, the Juniors our ability to co -operate to the Sophomores, and our sense of humor to the Freshmen. Marlene Halligan - Owns an elaborate beauty salon in Williamsport, Myrna Long - Married, living on Marine Base, Cherry Point, North Carolina. Connie Moyer - Private Secretary for CBS Corporation, Sally Myers - Fashion buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue, Sterling Myers - Owns a refrigerator business in Alaska. Beverly Phillips - Married to a missionary in Madagascar. Daniel Rose - Owns several sawmills throughout the state. Judy Rose - Head Physical Therapist at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Rita Searfoss - Head of a nursery school in Tucson, Arizona. Alvin Smith - Member of the Boston Celtics. George Smith - Contractor for the new consolidated school in Laporte. Dick Sones - Fur trapper in Antarctica. Carl Stiger - Admiral of his ship, the Saratoga. Douglas Toothaker - Head of Aeronautics Department in Washington, D.C. JoAnn Worthington - Make -up artist for MGM studios, That'sall: so don't bother me for another couple of hundred years, But we, the class of 1956, wonder how clearly a mirror can see, CLASS HHSTURY We, the Class of '56, began our first year of high school September 3, 1952, There were twenty-five of us including, Albert Driebe, Douglas Golder, Leroy Hess, Walter Hoagland, William Little, Sterling Myers, Danielkose, Wayne Sharrow, Alvin Smith, George Smith, Richard Sones, Carl Stiger, Russell Freeman, Barbara Fiester, Irene Golder, Anna Gunther, Marlene Halligan, Valerie Hill, Yvonne Marcey, Constance Moyer, Sara Myers, Beverly Phillips, Julia Rose, Betty Whitmoyer, and JoAnn Worthington. We highlighted our freshman year with a farewell party for Valerie Hill at the Eagles Mere fire hall. The party ended with Alvin Smith eating all the cupcakes. At the beginning of our Sophomore year we lost three persons and gained five from Dushore when their high school was closed. They were Ronald Avery, Douglas Toothaker, Myrna Long, Rita Searfoss, and Gwen Stevens. During this year we also gained Carl Barnes and Howard Condon. We also held a Christmas Sock dance during this year. Thanks to our run away students our class trip to Hershey was cancelled, We began our Junior year losing five of our members, including Judy Rose who was stricken with polio during August 1954. In spite of all her difticulties she has completed courses in the hospital and is back to graduate with us. During this year we were kept busy preparing for our Junior Prom. The theme was The Cruise of Judy Elizabeth, in honor of Judy Rose. It was held May 13, 1955, with rrrusic by Frankie Reynold's Orchestra. Even though it was Friday the thirteenth, our prom proved to be a great success and will never be forgotten by our class. Our Senior year started September 12, 1955, with twenty-one of us. We lost five from the previous year but gained one. Leroy Hess was the addition to the class. We lost him near the end of the year. November 3 and 4, 1955, the class presented the Senior Class play, Meet me at the Prom, under the direction of Mr. Yaudes, Mr. Whetstone, and Mr, Snyder, The members of our class were guests at the Junior .Prom on May 4, 1956, sponsored by the class of '57, The theme was Disneyland, Plans have been completed for commence- ment and the trip to Washington.
