PM In the process of gathering up our belongings, we discovered a diary belonging to Miss Sprout. Being alone in the room at the time, we skimmed over the pages until someone noticed something regarding the C1ass of '54, Miss Sprout had written that she had consulted a fortune teller concerning the future of our class. Here is what the crystal ball holds for the class of 1954. Quote: After a long pause Madame Know-it-all said, 'Miss Sprout, I see a tall, dark man working as head mechanic in Myers' Super Garage on North Mountain. The name on his uniform tells us he's Chester Myers, and there's a blonde stenographer in his office too, the name plate on her desk says Mrs. Yonkin, but her classmates knew her as Marian Houseknecht. Oh, there goes a long, long trailer around the bend: I can see a man driving - the former Shelby Myers must be in the back preparing lunch for Irvin and their two children. A beautiful mansion is being erected - the contractor is Dale Phillips and Sons. He's employed by the former Daisy Little who married a millionaire. l think she met him at a teachers' banquet held in honor of Patsey Reeser, who was named Teacher of the Year. Now, l see Blanche Foust walking down the Main Street of Nordmont. What an unusual hair-do. Up-sweep in the back, and down-sweep in the front. She's owner and operator of the 'Foust Beauty Salon. In Eagles Mere, I see our star reporter of the Eagles Mere Herald Tribune is keeping tabs on the city's pulse by watching the policemen's beat. I can hear a sweet voice saying Number Please - but l can't see anyone - it must be the former Shirley Ferrell she's been working for the Bell for quite a few years now. I guess her husband is making a career of the Air Force and she's living with her in-laws. Oh, there my crystal ball is clearing up again and it's Runette Parkhouse singing at Radio City. In her spare time between singing engagements she's writing a novel, 'How to Hold Your Man. There is Joanne Fyfe in Washington, riding a horse as usual: she's the owner of the World's largest riding academy - there, she stopped to talk to one of her old classmates, Carl Rider. He's driving a taxi cab in which he hauls some of the most prominent senators from their homes to the capitol. I see Ann Taylor is Florence Nightingale of '64, running through the halls of the new Muncy Valley City Hospital carrying her little lamp. After a long gaze into the ball, the fortune teller said, Now I see water, must be the ocean - and there's Anne Krause sailing the brine with the Waves. Wel1, does that take care of everyone in your class, Miss Sprout? No, you missed Wayne Gavitt, she replied. So I did, now let me see! Here he is! Over in Persia. The president has just assigned him as Commander-in-Chief of the Middle East. He seems to have adapted himself to the country's customs very well, already he has a harem consisting of nine wives. Then Miss Sprout thanked Madame Know-it-all and told her she felt much better knowing everything was under control.
