Class History On the eventful day of September 5 , 1945 , six frightened but eager youths were welcomed into the first grade of Sullivan Local School with Mrs. Hadley as their teacher. They were: Edith Ringler, Mary Ann Marshall, Glenda Keefer, janet Foster, Frank Graham , and Don Miller. During our second year of school Ianet Foster moved to Homerville. Mrs. Furnace was our teacher and we felt quite proud of ourselves when we had finally learned to read and write. In our third year, Mrs. Reese stood by us. Two new members joined our class , Larry Messmore from Lodi and David Miller. janet Foster returned once again to our class. We had Miss Miller as our teacher in the fourth grade. Nothing exciting happened this year except the Christmas program which we all were in. In the fifth grade two more joined our class . Iudy Wright from Avon Lake and Curtis Howe. Mrs. Baker was our teacher this year. In the sixth grade Mrs. Baker painfully, but successfully gave us the push we needed to get into jr. High School. During our seventh grade, changing classes was quite a big event for us so called grown-ups . Roger Weiler joined us from Homerville and Miss Gilcrest was our advisor. In the eighth grade we felt we had finally arrived when we were allowed to have our first class party under the able guidance of Mr. Kilchenman. Next came our biggest step High School . Our class was enlarged by five. Carol Walter, Dan Nesbett, David Clark, Bob Wilson, and Dick Hawley who came from Huntington. Mr. Kilchenman was again our advisor. The big event of our tenth grade was the operetta , Meet Arizona . Many of us stared in this production. Mrs. Hassinger acted as our advisor this year. In the eleventh grade Lyn Davidson joined our class from Kipton. We joined the dra- matic ranks and presented No Boys Allowed as our class play under the direction of Mr. Kemp. That year we were hosts to the seniors at the annual junior-Senior Prom. and we used as our theme , The Stork Club. On September 4, 1956 , seventeen little angels dropped in for their final stay at S.H.S. This year being busiest of them. all. Getting ready for our Senior Play, One For The Money , our trip to Washington and New York , graduation, and preparing our annual, which we named the Spotlight . Mr. Larabee was our advisor this year.
