f I . JOAN K I lflQ Men give away nothing so liberally as their advice, La Rochefoucauld once remarked. and it is true that from the beginning of time the advisory-mindecl have contrived to make known their recommendations. Whether we ask for them or not. Today. counsel both wise and foolish streams steadily toward us from news- paper. lecture platform. over hack fences. and from television commercials. The theme of this yearbook. Time Moves On. Certainly lends itself to unsolicited advice or admonition. At least. mine is brief. The telescopic quality of time has been noted by many philosophers. Time seems not to proceed at a uniform pace. but rather to accelerate as we grow older. Time may appear now to stretch endlessly ahead of you. for in our youthful years each of us considers himself immortal. However. there is only a limited and unknown quantity of time allotecl to each of us. to use well or to squander. lt is precious stuff. Use it wisely.

.I I . 387111 With a plaque of Abraham Lincoln in his office and a statue of George Washington on the out- side, Mr. Fenn feels that any student who visits with him in this wholesome environment should be inspired with good citizenship. Mr. Fenn employs a very interesting philosophy of Abraham Lincoln which is, in his opinion, similar to the Golden Rule: I do the very best I know how: the very best I can: and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right. what is said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swear- ing l was right would make no difference? Mr. Fenn's pet suggestion to students is: ffBe careful in planning your work: then be sincere in working your plan. Z xml' P ifid .Nadia .jwlanrion With emphasis on administration. Miss Helen Hanson, Sullivan's Assistant Principal, is always ready with a helping hand. Although her job is a difficult one, she carries it out smoothly and competently. Throughout her years at Sullivan Miss Hanson has always been a great asset to our school, both as a teacher and as a counselor. She has given much of her time and effort to Sullivan students and now as Assistant Principal she has taken over with great efficiency. With her aid there is no doubt that Sullivan will continue to hold its record as one of the finest schools in Chicago. Miss Hansonls genuine interest in the student body helps make her one of the greatly respected people in Sullivan.
