ociaf ,iience ln our freshman year we were taken back to olden Egypt, Rome, Syria, and Palestine in Ancient l-lis- tory. By the time we were sopho- mores we were advanced enough to be allowed a peek at the rest of the world in World History. When a junior, the problems of Europe's affairs were laid on our shoulders in Modern European history, and when we had attained the heights of a senior we learned all a bout the growth of our own land in United States history. ln civics we found out all about the congressman and his colleagues of whom and to whom we are always complaining. And, if we were in doubt about our future, a course in careers enlightened us as to whether we were best suited to be an in- surance agent or town dog catcher. lf, however, we were destined to enter the business world, we certain- ly would be glad of the economics, commercial law, and commercial geography we had taken. J aff ll , 5 J fe 5 cience Do you hear the call of test tubes, microscopes, and flasks plus the smell of experiments? Are you long- ing to disect a frog or make a bug collection? l-lave you always wonder- e d about chromosomes, atomic weights, vibrations, or the inside story of astronomy? Well, after a one year course of general science which treats all subjects from amoe- bae to elephants, you can engage in the above activities. For aspiring scientists there is the fascination of a laboratory and the thrill of conducting their own experiments in chemistry. Other courses that are offered in the science department are physics, chemistry, and biology. More than ever before, enroll- ment in the science department has been exceedingly high. lt is no wonder, however, because of the important part science is playing in the world today. By preparing our- selves as fully as we can in the field of science, we are making ourselves more fully equipped to become the best citizens of tomorrow.
