XS-- 12- e- 2314 at e e Q-if MRS. SCHABES To you, Mrs. Schabes, we dedicate this page. Somehow or other your work for the NAVILLUS goes by unnoticed year after year. We, the staff, have pledged that the school should know what you have done and how much we appreciate it. There isn't a page you don't see lexcept this onel, a picture on which you can't offer a suggestion, a write-up you don't improve or a NAVILLUS staff member to whom you don't give something of value to serve him for the rest of his life, You can and do give the kind of guidance and help we need. To end, there's a little story we'd like to tell. This NAVIL- LUS of l94-4 was not to be. At least that is what you said last year. No more NAVILLUS for the duration, but we knew better. You softened and said you might help us, but only when it was an emergency, or absolutely necessary. We realized that you bravely tried to convince yourself that the NAVlLLUS was not your worry. Soon an emergency, or absolutely neces- sary became just absolutely necessary and then a simple necessary, ln the end you again were helping to put out this i944 NAVILLUS. Between taking care of War Bonds and teaching several English classes a day, we still don't see how you managed to help us, but you did and we, and all of Sullivan, thank you for it, Mrs. Schabes. You just won't let us down and Sullivan truly appreciates it! Page 6
