Mr. Perigo very willingly accepted from Stephen Griggs and John Ford a chocolate candy bar, the sale of which was sponsored by the band. SULLIVAN HIGH SCHOCL BAND The Sullivan High School Marching Band started practice immediately after schoolbeganinSeptember,1955. They worked extra hard to be in shape for the firstfootball game. From that football game, when The Star-Spangled Banner filled the air, until they played Pomp and Circumstanceu at commencement, the band had given the high school students and the town's people reason to be proud of them. Along with playing at all basketball and football games, attending contests, and giving concerts, the band completed an already full year by numerous mon- ey-making projects. These included the annual magazine subscription sale, a Pancake Festival, and a sale of chocolate candy bars. For the band all the events were successful from a monetary and publicity standpoint. These three big money-making projects brought the band enough money to handle the finances on their annual trip at the end of the year--a perfect end to a busy, exciting year for the Sullivan High School Marching Band. The Sullivan Band, attired in their new pur- ple and gold uniforms, posed for a photo in concert formation. Mr. Wilfred Perigio, con- trary to custom, placed himself at the rear of the band. lt was through his efforts that the band succeeded in its many activities. ,gl -if dent. Along with the pre-game ceremonies they helped with the coronation of the Queen at half-time of the Sullivan-Linton football game by forming a large heart which she and her court entered.
