Unfortunately the alumni are pushed into the background, for this is the high school's big day. November ll, 1955, was indeed an outstanding event for Sullivan High School students. A victorious football game a lovely queen and her court, and never-to-be-forgotten dance. All who participated have many memories. But the Class of 1956 ended the wonderful day a little wistfully, for next year they will be alumni. 5 22

ACTIVITIE What wouldahigh school be without some di- version from the routine of the classroom? At SullivanHighSchool this diversion takes shape in the form of various activities that range from the dignified Beta Club to the fun-loving FTA. Each year the school calendar is almost en- tirely filled with club meetings. Along with the regular scheduled meetings there are many SPEClALactivities--the FHA Chicken Spaghetti Supper, the Student Council Carnival, the GAA Basketball Tourney, the Hi-Y Bean Supper, the Beta Club Induction. Many friends are made in these clubs --friends that will never be forgotten. A senior gets to know a freshman, and a junior starts to date a sophomore from an introduction in some organization. The clubs are one of the reasons why SHS students dread to graduate. They hate to leave all the memorable experiences ofmeeting together at night or during the activi- ty period. But they gain a great deal from being apart of the Sullivan extra-curricular activities that will benefit them for many, many yez come.
