FUTURE HlllllEllIHliEllS ill Hlllilllllll The Sullivan High School Future Homemakers of America is a part of anational organization. Any student in high school, who has taken a home economics course either in junior or senior high, is eligiblefor membership. The aim of the club is to make the lives of America's future families more pleasant by teaching high school students better homemaking methods. This year the club held a very impressive initiation ceremony. One of the club's protects has been to plan, prepare, and serve dinners for several local organizations. The main profect of i953 has been in the planning of various types of recreation . Miss Stull is the faculty sponsor. 1 I ? I I L HI-U The Hi-Y is affiliated with a national organization, the YMCA. The club stresses clean speech, clean sports, clean scholarship, and clean living. The organization is very active during the entire school year. During football season the members worked in the new concession stand which they helped to finance . They have also participated in pre-Christmas and pre- Easter programs which were given over the public address system. ln the spring they played host to the district Hi- Y and Tri-Hi-Y Conference which was held in Sullivan High School. i A definite school asset, the group is sponsored by Mr. Fisher. Counting the loot after a successful sale of concessions is this group of Hi-Y members. Cecil Alumbaugh monopolizes the cash, while Jim Crooks, Jim Pixtle, ana Danny Frew are interested by-standers. To qualify for membership each boy must have been awarded an S for participating in the school athletic pro- gram.
