A course in bench metal was offered in the industrial arts department. Physical education was offered to freshmen only. It is now possible for students to graduate on a commercial, vocational or college preparatory course. National defense became a part of our school system as the N.Y.A. girls shown in the snapshot lower right became regularly enrolled in the home economics department and Mr. Martin taught class- es in welding and other shop subjects to out-of-school students. All H- gf A' Q fpaolplte clgou Wight Expect to cwleet Just as the stage hands behind the scenes make or mar a perfect performance, so many persons around Sullivan High School are needed besides teachers and students. Hazel Kirk and Barbara Collins in the print-ipal's office are always busy with typing, errands, ticket sales, and such. Frances Phillips, clerk of the school board, keeps Mr. Billman's office in order. Bill Morris and Mr. Stanbaugh posed graciously for the camera.
