6lEE CLUB Life is a song for thirty-one melody-minded girls, and a harmonious life it is. This organization has long been a sugar-coated pill to sweeten the disposition of hard-working pupils. When the soft strains of Sweet Sue echo through the halls, all geometry problems and government books are laid aside and music reigns supreme. Miss lean Cox directs their notes and sees that none go astray. Their motto: no flat notes, their goal: higher notes, their theme: happy notes for happy people, their aim in life: bank notes. These songsters do much to maintain the cultural side of life in Sullivan High School, both in the fine old songs and in the modern swing tunes. DRUM CORPS With flying skirts and the sound of drums, the marching corps of S. l-l, S. comes into sight, as the photographer and the staff risk their necks to shoot the arrow formation from a second story window. Leading this group is a fancy stepper, Patty Hofmann. A call for attention, a lift of the arm, a shrill whistle, and they're off, as she leads them through in- tricate patterns and drills. We see them on the football field at the half, at the basketball games, and often at school activities. Under the direc- tion of Miss Bland these twenty-one girls have been stepping fast and furious, since their first appearance in l934. A junior organization is fol- lowing in the footsteps of the senior drum corps,
