This year's tchievement of tl1e Golden Arrows was winning second place in the XY'al1asli Valley rating only 2'3 points hehind tl1e winners. tl1e Bicknell Bulldogs. In the first game. with Bloomfield. the Arrows took advantage of only slight com- petition and won 13-tl. To hold the Clinton eleven to a scoreless tie required tl1e Arrows realli' to put out . Through .1 steady downpour of rain: hoth teams pounded against each other. Clinton with great difficulty defending their last vear's championship title. .Xnotlier rainy dat' dawned on the game with Bicknell. XVith due credit to weather and worthy opposition. tl1e fellows failed to cliclx .tml lost 741. Ye Golden Arrows w.1lked away with Dugger to tl1e tttne of ZS-ll, The next game. with Gar- field. was a little closer, l-4-0. Vincennes offered fair competition. The Arrows were leading 13-U, until Vincennes tied the score. Tl1e Kelly men forged ahead with another end run and stayed in tl1e le.1d until tl1e game finished 20-13. Sportland lfield was the scene of a beautiful g.1tne with Brazil. Again Sullixan came out on top, with the VVl10lC team plaving excellent hall. ln the first four or five minutes of tl1e W'iley game the Arrows set a fast pace. but the Red Streaks, l-iejred to play' ahox'e their heads . held tl1en1 to .1 sole touch- down. ' g The Arnnstice Hay game was tl1e classic. With .1 record of eighteen games won out of nineteen, the Linton Miners expected easy going, hut the g.lIT1L' ended 26-ll. in favor of the Golden Nrrows.
