The Patriots, lacking any experience, had only one senior returning on defense. But they stayed with it and fought back with great determination with a just few games left. They posted a 3-7 ledger and finished with a 12- 0 victory over highly ranked Greeneville. 88 89 1st Row: R. Henson, T. Adams, L. Blevins, A. Hewlett, J. Good, R. Kiser, J. Robbins, J. Gilbert, M. CCr)?? rrt B 1 earn The East High Junior Varsity Foot- ball season started with new faces and lots of enthusiasm. The team was small and quick. When the hitting started, they wouldnβt back down from anyone. The Junior Varsity will be our Varsity next year. Lots of Luck, Fellows. 92 93 94 Varsity Basketball The 1973-74 basketball team under the direction of new Head Coach Rick Trivett, started off with a win over Ketron in the opening game. Prior to this game the players elected Eddie Holtsclaw as the team captain. The lack of experience at the first of the year hampered the team but the Patriots showed determina tion by their win over Kingsport 64-62 in overtime. The Patriots have improved with every game and bar- ring injuries should be primed and ready by tournament time. 95 Left to right: Coach Trivett, Bobhy Shelley, Chip Glover, Johnny Simerly, Wayne Bartley, Scotty McClelland, Lonnie Blevins, Eddie Hollsclaw, Clarence Rogers, Barry Henry, Gary Robinette, Tony Adams, Danny Peters. 55 Ketron 44 70 Morristown E. 77 66 Tenn.
