Hard on the heels of the play came serious work on the yearbook. Various com- mittees had been selected, and each performed in the time-honored method of com- mittees, doing as little as possible. That is, until the week before the first deadline when Miss Laverty, the yearbook advisor, touched each person's nose to the grindstone. As each deadline approached, we were prodded to keep grinding. We kept meeting deadlines until Class Day. This needed a lot of work. After spending many worried hours, the committee finally presented the class with an accept- able script. On May 21 ninety-two seniors and the Professor's Vonderful Machine pre- sented Senior Class Day, 1965. The program was a great success, and the awards re- ceived by the members of the class were many and varied, Finally the eagerly awaited event, second annual commencement of Sullivan Coun- ty High School, arrived. Lycoming College President Dr. Wertz, in his address on The Contagion of Intimacy , advised us to be careful in choosing what or whom we love, as we grow to be like that which we love, Ninety-two graduates received diplomas from Mr. Harold Robbins, president of the Board of School Directors, on May 29, 1965, Thus officially ends an important, discouraging, enjoyable, informative, and ex- tremely formative part of our life, our high school career. Now, as this history is writ- ten, we begin the next phase of our existence, stepping with trepidation and eager a.r1- ticipation over the threshold of life. Truly, the end of this history is a commencement! 'fly JNL
