FOREWORD During our years at Sul Ross, each of us has in his own way striven to lay his own foundation for a useful life, and to assure the fulfillment of his own ambition. In spite of our diverse aims, we have in common sought and gained knowledge from our studies, guidance from our faculty, fellowship among ourselves, and inspiration from the enduring beauty manifested in the country surrounding us. Despite a world previously trampled with oppression , we still possess, and will always maintain, freedom of thought and action; through broad learning we have acquired those priceless possessions—sound minds and spirits capable of meeting any situation which might arise. We have sought for, andrwill surely attain, mankind’s dream of a just world. May our knowledge and love of truth ever remain our common and firm foundation for hope.
