H oopsfers eef Wifh N ighfmare Coach Ralph Willett's hoopsters were out classed but certainly not out fought against some of the best competition during the season. The enlarged Bi-County League entrants ac- counted for seven losses at the beginning. Xvinning one and losing nineteen does not present a happy picture-collectively it prints a sad page in the Suitland basketball annuals--nevertheless indivi- dual exploits produced some bright spots. These bright spots in the otherwise gloomy season were the all-round playing of co-captains Ray Cappell and Ronnie Thornburg, the deadly accuracy and hustle of Mike Kirkpatrick, and the rebounding of sophomore center, Larry Finley. The junior Varsity, coached by Mr. Thomas Davis, won eight while dropping eleven. Barry Smith and Ray McDaniel led the junior Rams.
